I've been quite remiss in responding to those of you who have been kind enough to support this blog, as of late. My first child is on the way, and I'm working on a solo show coming up in September (Ghostprint Gallery in Richmond, VA). I've had to prioritize my time a bit.
Recently, I've been featured/participated in a few videos posted on YouTube, and a few sites. If you are interested in seeing my fat head as I stumble over words (I've been told that it sounds like I'm chewing on gravel when I speak), you can follow them below. One of the videos is repeated on both Youtube, and the Academy website.
There will be quite a bit of Advice on ideation, and picture making coming from the podcast and blog section of the new Illustration Academy website. So far, the Academy has recorded my thoughts on ideation, sketchbooks, a full demonstration on "Vertical Hold"- a piece created for the Illustration Academy, shown above, a short demonstration on Omar from Mars Volta, and a podcast on portfolios. Much of this information will be delivered free to those that sign up via email.
Additionally, I will be moving some of the content from this site to the blog section of the Illustration Academy, with the hopes of reaching a wider audience, and developing a better portal for the delivery of collaborative information from the instructors at the Academy:

congratulations on the new website!
I looked through it, and signed up for podcast subscription. Saw your 'sketchbook'vid ... gosh you work so hard.
I enjoyed the amazing Gallery section on the site, too. Can't believe they are all "students", they are brilliant. I hope every piece has the artist name, so I can take a look more of their art on their website (if available).
I checked YouTube too - and no, you didn't sound like you were chewing on gravel! It's great it fit many of your illustrations in a short time, and made it available veiwable HQ.
I hope all is well - good luck with the exhibitions, and the fatherhood (congratulations).

Sterling, welcome to fatherhood. It's awesome, excited to see a little "Sterling" running around. My youngest just turned 3 the other day, crazy how fast time flies. Anyway glad to see your doing well, love the podcasts and can't wait to get the rest of the videos. Finally got a blog, if you get a chance check it out
