Completely unrelated comment here, but it was truly an inspiration to read through your blog. I'm still a student, trying to find my own way through the tide of artists out there who hope to make it just as much as I do, and I believe all of what you have said are things that will ring true and stay with me forever. Yes, definitely not taught about all this in our art history books.
